WA's Pilbara Coast or "Cyclone Alley" as it is otherwise known is acknowledged as being the most impacted region in the Southern Hemisphere and therefore never short on developing or unfolding events during the active months of Nov - Apr. with the many systems that develop on or near the Kimberley coast being responsible for a large percentage of the annual rainfall throughout the region.

With the Arafura and Timor Seas often being the spawning grounds of some of our more significant systems and the Gulf of Carpentaria also producing some very interesting and dynamic TCs, the NT coastline has throughout history been affected on a regular basis by TC impacts.

No unread posts Queensland Tropical Cyclone Events (140E - 160E)

Queensland's Coral Sea has in recent times sent some powerful Cyclones towards the coast including Severe Tropical Cyclones Larry and Yasi. Many more have lurked ominously offshore threatening QLD communities before moving away, and it is for this reason that the Coral Sea always has the potential to present significant and interesting systems worthy of close monitoring.

The South Pacific Island nations since the dawn of time have lived under the constant threat of major Tropical Cyclone impacts with many of them until recent times going relatively undocumented. The region is also responsible for developng many systems that later go on to become real and relevant threats within the Coral Sea and often the QLD coastline.

No unread posts Atlantic and Pacific Hurricane Events

Each year the US Gulf states, the Caribbean and Central American coastines are stalked by what are some of the world's biggest and most intense Hurricanes. The affects can be devastating when these systems make landfall due to the low lying nature of some of the susceptible regions and the under-developed nature of others. Incredible systems to follow none the less..
